 The Waretown Thunder evolved from the original 10/under Waretown Mets (1999 Waretown Athletic
Association), the 12/under Waretown Piranhas (2000-2001 Waretown Girls Fast Pitch Softball League) and the short
livd Stafford Sirens (2001 Independent), before settling in as it's own league in 2002. Participating in prior
years as an individual 14U, 16U and 18U team in ASA Tournaments, PONY National Qualifiers, NSA National Qualifiers,
and Babe Ruth Softball, this year we will continue to focus on building our local girls fast pitch softball league.
It is the goal of the Waretown Thunder Softball Club to give the girls the opportunity to compete and learn the
game of fast pitch softball, experience the thrills of competition and travel, to have quality equipment and coaching
resources and last but certainly not least.....TO HAVE SOME FUN! We thank all our volunteers and Sponsors in anticipation
of another successful season in 2009. |

We are affiliated with Babe Ruth Softball & annually charters our
teams for participation in the Babe Ruth SNJ District 4 Tournaments. Babe
Ruth Softball has a "true tournament trail" where participants can earn their way to a World Series berth
by winning District, State and Regional titles. Think it can't happen for a small town? Think again! The Waretown
Thunder have 5 District, 4 State, 2 Regional crowns & have 2 World Series appearances. 2004 in Abbeville, LA
and 2006 in Millville, NJ. |
